At Pier One Shoes, we want you to be completely satisfied with your stylish footwear purchase. If for any reason you’re not happy with your order, we offer a straightforward returns and exchanges process for most items within 15 days of delivery.

Please note: For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on pantoffels (slippers) and muiltjes & clogs unless they are unworn, in their original packaging, and in resalable condition.

Eligibility for Returns & Exchanges

To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must:

  • Be in its original condition (unworn, unwashed, with tags still attached)
  • Be in the original packaging (including shoe box and any protective packaging)
  • Have proof of purchase (order number or receipt)
  • Be returned within 15 days of the delivery date

How to Initiate a Return or Exchange

Step 1: Contact Our Customer Service

Email our customer service team at [email protected] with the following information:

Subject: Return/Exchange Request – Order #[Your Order Number]

Email Body:

Dear Pier One Customer Service,

I would like to request a [return/exchange] for my recent order #[Your Order Number].

Product name: [Product Name]

Size/Color: [Size and Color if applicable]

Reason for return/exchange: [Please specify]

For exchanges, I would like: [New Size/Color/Product]

Step 2: Wait for Approval

Our team will review your request within 1-2 business days and email you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number along with return instructions.

Step 3: Package and Ship Your Return

Please pack the item securely in its original packaging, including the shoe box. Include a copy of your order confirmation or packing slip. Write the RMA number clearly on the outside of the package.

Note: We recommend using a trackable shipping service as you are responsible for the return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error (wrong item shipped or defective product).

Refund Process

Refund Timeline

Once we receive your returned item, our team will inspect it and process your refund within 3-5 business days. The refund will be issued to your original payment method.

Refund Methods

  • Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, JCB): 3-10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank
  • PayPal: 3-5 business days

Note: Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

Exchange Process

For exchanges, please follow the same return process above. Once we receive your return, we will ship your new item within 1-2 business days. Shipping charges for the new item will apply unless the exchange is due to our error.

If the new item you want is more expensive, you’ll need to pay the difference. If it’s less expensive, we’ll refund the difference.

Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us immediately at [email protected] with photos of the damage. We’ll arrange for a free return and replacement or refund.

International Returns

For international returns (outside the Netherlands), please note:

  • You are responsible for all return shipping costs and any applicable customs fees
  • Mark the package as “Returned Goods” to avoid additional customs charges
  • We cannot refund any original shipping charges for international orders
